A ‘Home Share Provider’ refers to any household providing space in their home to a person with intellectual disability.

Could you be a home share family?

If you would like to support a person to make new friends, develop new interests, broaden their experience of community life and become more independent, then home sharing is for you!

Why do families need a brake?

Caring for a child or adult with an intellectual disability can often be demanding and stressful. When their families get opportunity for a break they can use the time for themselves to relax, and/ or spend time with other members of the family. The individual with an intellectual disability can have the opportunity to have their own break and to develop relationships outside of their own family.
